Project summary: Paddock Community Trust has teamed up with a land-based studies college (Bishop Burton College) to plan and produce a series of horticultural training videos. The idea is develop a series of blended learning resources for the Environmental Services Apprenticeship framework currently used by local authorities. Each of the videos will be accompanied by a series of related SCORM compliant on-line exercises and supporting materials. The Trust is working with a professional film-maker and graphic designer to make the films as coherent and engaging as possible. The videos have been initially planned for learners completing the Environmental Services apprenticeship and will address units within this framework but would be applicable across wider qualifications. We believe that the use of video can reflect the scope of outdoor learning realistically across a range of physical environments, and effectively demonstrate a range of practical working methods. The work will be incorporated into Bishop Burton’s i-Learn VLE system in addition to the Jorum upload.
