Commissioned content: Video-based delivery, scenario-based quizzes to check knowledge in areas of Food Hygiene, soup making; hot sauce making. Potential for validation via open badges.

Project summary: We have taken three vital units from the Level 2 Diploma in Professional Cookery qualification and will develop a highly effective blended learning resource. This qualification is used throughout the industry and is accredited through various awarding bodies but is currently very heavily reliant on paper based evidence gathering. The resource will feature a highly experienced and motivating chef/lecturer who will provide quality expertise in teaching. The blended learning resource will also have a secondary function through the incorporation of a trackable evidence gathering portal for students studying the qualification. On the technical side, we are using a WordPress based platform with additional Learning Management System with a Tin Can API (very quickly replacing SCORM). The end product does not have to be VLE hosted and is accessible on almost all smart devices, and any computer that can operate an HTML browser.
