Commissioned content: A set of 30 learning objects covering Construction health & safety. It will include videos, audio-narration, quizzes and printable worksheets.
Project contact: David Thurlby
Project summary: This project will create 25 to 30 interactive learning objects covering many common aspects of Health and Safety in construction. Topics covered will be mandatory in both NVQ/apprenticeships and BTEC (Construction and the Built Environment) at all levels and is therefore a particularly reusable and useful set of resources. This engaging, interactive multimedia content will contain:
- Videos to introduce the topics, highlight importance and demonstrate good practice.
- Audio narration throughout and text on screen to aid accessibility. (PDF transcripts will be available for accessibility software.)
- Short quizzes including formative and summative assessment material where appropriate.
- Printable worksheets and other relevant documentation.
Benefits of these resources for the learner is that they would be able to access the topics online or offline, in classrooms or off-site as appropriate. This will not only engage learners, but also assure offsite learners (apprentices) are not disadvantaged by not having constant access to a tutor. SCORM compliant versions will be made available to track learner engagement.
