Commissioned content: Video-based resource for Food Enterprise (video made by students) linked to written quiz and guides.

Project summary: Gateshead College offers courses across catering and hospitality for learners studying at Levels 1, 2 and 3, as well as work-based Apprentices. Although there are a number of general food hygiene resources there is a gap in e-learning resources focused on Food Enterprise. This resource will include ‘video diary’ entries which show a group of our learners preparing Gastronomy 101 products for retail sale at a farmers market, and then scaling up production to supply Gateshead College’s new retail shop ‘Hand Picked’ in the Metro Centre, Gateshead. We will also include ‘video interview’ content with Trading Standards experts as well as local Food Entrepreneurs and SME Food Producers to discuss the steps they had to take in setting up their businesses, and which compliance and enforcement measures that had to consider and address.
